Privacy Policy — Dakhana Portal

Dakhana Portal ("the App") is a booking management tool for Pakistan Post shipments, built and operated by Codecare Software House. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.

1. Where your data lives

Dakhana Portal is a local-first application. All business data you enter — customer orders, addresses, phone numbers, amounts, and booking records — is stored directly in your own browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device. We do not operate a central database and do not receive, store, or have access to this data on any server we control.

2. Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request your basic profile information (name, email address, and Google account ID) solely to identify your account within the App on your device. This information is stored locally in your browser, not on any server we operate.

3. Google Drive Backup

If you choose to use the "Backup to Google Drive" feature, the App requests permission to create files in your Google Drive using the restrictive drive.file scope. This scope only allows the App to create and manage files it has itself created — it cannot see, read, or modify any other files in your Drive. Backup files contain your business's order and booking data in JSON format, uploaded directly from your browser to your own Google Drive account. We do not receive a copy of this data ourselves.

4. Pakistan Post Tracking Lookups

When you check a shipment's delivery status, the App sends the tracking number to a small proxy service (operated by Codecare Software House) which forwards the request to Pakistan Post's public tracking system (ep.gov.pk) and returns the result. Only the tracking number itself is transmitted for this purpose — no customer personal data is sent.

5. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not have server-side access to your orders, customers, or business records.

6. Data deletion

Since all data lives in your browser, you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this App, or by uninstalling the App if installed as a PWA. Any backups you made to your own Google Drive remain under your control and can be deleted by you at any time from Google Drive directly.
